From the moment you step into my studio, @thefunkpalace, the tone is set. The space is comfortable, grounded, and safe. No ego. No attitude. Just art, connection, and authenticity. You’re held in the process, every step of the way.

Every line is approached with focus and care. This part of the process requires stillness, trust, and intention. I work with precision, emotion, and full presence — honoring both the art and the body it lives on.

Once the session ends, the experience continues. You leave with more than fresh ink — you carry the meaning, the moment, and the choice you made to mark yourself with intention.

  • 1. Wait, you funkin’ tattoo as well?
    Haha, yes! I’ve been a tattoo artist for eight years now, and I funkin’ love it with a deep passion.

    Funky fact: I always planned on becoming a tattoo artist—not a photographer. Photography was definitely not on my life bingo card. But the universe has a beautiful way of guiding us exactly where we’re meant to be.
  • 2. What’s your style of tattooing?
    I love creating all things realism—both in black and grey and in color. From pop-culture portraits and wildlife to florals and movie-themed sleeve masterpiece projects, this style is where my artistry truly comes alive.

    I also love turning my funkers into dainty floral gardens. There’s something effortlessly special about hand-drawing each design to uniquely complement your anatomy, creating a piece that feels personal, intentional, and beautifully yours.

  • 3. How long does the tattoo process take?
    Wonderful question! The length of your session truly depends on the type of art we’re creating together. Sessions can range anywhere from a minimum of one hour to up to ten hours in a single day.

    Factors such as size, level of detail, and individual pain tolerance all play a role in determining how long we can comfortably tattoo in one session.

    If you’re looking to create a sleeve or larger-scale piece, these are typically broken into multiple sessions. This allows us to preserve the precision, care, and quality needed to create a truly breathtaking, long-lasting masterpiece.
  • 4. are you heavy handed or light handed?
    Definitely light-handed—1000%.

    Many funkers who’ve been tattooed by other artists often tell me they can immediately feel the difference between my hand and others.

    I’ve had funkers sit for their very first tattoo ever and comfortably make it through a full day of tattooing—roughly eight hours. That level of ease comes from my intentional approach to care, precision, and delicacy throughout the entire process.

    I understand that tattoos can be uncomfortable, but there’s no reason for unnecessary suffering from the start. My goal is for you to feel supported, relaxed, and as comfortable as possible while creating something beautiful and meaningful together.
  • 5. where are you located? 
    My tattoo studio is located in the heart of Hesperia, CA. Just an hour outside of Joshua Tree, CA.
  • 6. Can you do house calls and tattoo me in the comfort of my home?
    Yes, I definitely can—and I have, many times, for my funkers.

    Depending on your location, all travel would need to be covered round trip.

    House-call sessions begin at $450 per hour, ensuring the same level of care, intention, and artistry—brought directly to you.
  • 7. I’m traveling to you, What is the closest airport?ayment do you offer?
    I’m truly honored you’re making the journey out to my little desert oasis to get funky with me!

    Here are the closest airports to my studio, listed by distance:

    Ontario International Airport (ONT) — approximately 45 minutes

    Palm Springs International Airport (PSP) — approximately 1 hour 30 minutes

    Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) — approximately 1 hour 45 minutes
  • 8. Do you charge by piece or hour?
    My standard rate is $350 per hour.

    That said, I occasionally offer special day rates for tattoo projects that align with my ongoing tattoo wanna do’s list—a curated collection of concepts I’m actively excited to explore as part of my artistic evolution.

    These projects are a mutual collaboration: you receive a thoughtfully designed tattoo at a special rate, and I get to bring a long-held creative idea to life. If your vision happens to align with something on this list, it opens the door for us to create something truly intentional and one of a kind—together.

    Feel free to review the list and see if any of your ideas connect. If they do, I’d love to create some art with you. If you have an idea of your own that closely aligns with the spirit or style of something on that list, I’d absolutely love to hear it.
  • 9. How is payment handled to secure an appointment with you?
    A non-refundable $500 retainer is required to secure your appointment with me.

    This retainer will be applied toward your final balance on the day of your session.

    The remaining balance may be paid via:

  • 10. When Can I see my design
    Designs will be available for viewing on the morning of your appointment once you’re in the studio.

    From the moment you book until the day we create together, I dedicate the time, energy, and intention needed to thoughtfully design a one-of-a-kind, forever masterpiece just for you.

    I’ll ask all the right questions and stay in communication along the way to ensure I fully understand your ideas, vision, and inspiration—so everything is aligned when you arrive for your session.
  • 11. I’m Running late or need to reschedule, What happens?
    I, 1000% understand that life happens—your safety always comes first. Please take your time and get to the studio safely.

    I do allow a 15-minute grace period for appointments. If I haven’t heard from you within that time, we’ll need to reschedule your session.

    Communication is key, and I truly appreciate a heads-up whenever possible.


    If you need to reschedule due to an emergency or unforeseen circumstances, that can absolutely be arranged with advance notice. A $250 rescheduling fee will apply and must be paid within 24 hours of requesting the change. After that, a new non-refundable $500 retainer will be required to secure a new appointment date.
  • 12. Do you do coverups?
    In short—yes, it’s possible. That said, it will depend on the tattoo you currently have and what we’re hoping to cover it with.

    Please keep in mind that cover-up tattoos do come with certain limitations. Factors such as scarring, darkness, and blown-out lines can affect what designs are possible.

    During our consultation, I’ll assess all of this with care and honesty so we can determine the best approach.

    In some cases, I may recommend a few laser removal sessions to lighten the existing tattoo beforehand. This can open up far more creative possibilities and allow for a cleaner, more successful cover-up once the area has faded.
  • 13. Do you have a specific aftercare routine?
    Yes, I funkin’ do—and I’ll also go over everything in detail with my funkers after their appointment.

    I use second skin as part of my aftercare process to help protect your tattoo during the initial healing stage.

    Before you leave the studio, I’ll thoroughly cleanse your tattoo with antibacterial soap and carefully apply the second skin.

    I’ll also walk you through my tried-and-true aftercare routine—an exact formula my funkers and I have refined over time to ensure a smooth, stress-free, and beautiful healing process.

    I always check in with my funkers within 24–48 hours after their appointment, and you’re welcome to reach out anytime with questions. Your tattoo is an investment, and I want to make sure it’s fully protected so it heals clean, strong, and exactly as intended.
